Our standard package...an affordable forum online
For only $29.95 a year, you get your own message board on a webgroups server. It will reside on a server and have a name such as webgroups.biz/yourname/ or webgroups.us/yourname/. Our standard package includes:- Initial setup provided at no charge.
- 1 GB (1024 Megabytes)
of data traffic per month.
- $2.50 per additional GB (or part thereof) per month. No need to purchase in advance.
- A MySQL database!
- 100 MB diskspace
for your database.
- $2.50 per additional 50 MB (or part thereof) per month. This must be purchased in advance.
- phpBB2 message board software pre-installed.
- An email address such as your_forum_name@webgroups.biz or .us.
- No advertisements.
- No
banners or popups.
WebGroups provides free initial setup as part of its standard package. Further help and support is provided at standard hourly rates.
What about other options? You can get FTP access where you can install your own modifications to the message boards, install your own styles or themes and customize the look and feel of your message board as well. Free forum hosting?
While they are available on the web, we don't host
forums for free. We feel that quality, speed and reliability are important
in running a professional website and offering a professional message board
or forum. Many companies have shown that you get what you pay for and that
free forums cannot be reliable and fast. In addition to performance and
reliability problems, they certainly are not free of banner advertisement.
Pop-ups and Pop-under advertisement can become so intrusive that visitors
could avoid your forum alltogether. We believe that charging a small affordable
fee for the webhosting of your forum provides stability and continuity to
your message board. We also give you the opportunity to move the forum -
including the database data - away from the WebGroups environment should
you ever choose to host your forum elsewhere.
